Clovelly Route

1. Sasha Scholtz + Marlise Keith - 64 Clovelly Rd, Clovelly
Sasha ScholtzSasha runs art classes from her home studio, Creative Space Clovelly, drawing on a rich experience teaching art in Eswatini, Franschhoek, Makhanda and Cape Town. Her own creative practice spans mixed media, collage and ink.
Marlise KeithMarlise is known for mixed-media collages, large-scale drawings, and small sculptures of fabric and found objects that process difficult subject matter through raw, textured mark-making.
2. Kyoko Kimura Morgan - 93 Clovelly Rd, Clovelly
Kyoko Kimura MorganKyoko is a Japanese paper artist, origami teacher and founder of Origami for Africa. Her work fuses Japanese traditions (ceramics, boro mending and sumi-e ink painting) with Cape Town's creative spirit.
3. Evan Oberholster + Leora Lewis - 90 Clovelly Rd, Clovelly
Evan OberholsterSince relocating to Clovelly in 2019, Evan has expanded from oil painting into ceramic mask sculpture, presenting a dialogue between painted bodies and sculpted faces.

A ceramic artist whose work moves between the functional and the fantastical, from carefully controlled tableware to intuitive hand-built pieces inspired by animals, birds and organic forms.
4. Angela Buckland - 4 Clovelly Road, Clovelly
Angela Buckland
A photographer specialising in architectural, editorial and NGO-sector work, Angela has spent 25 years as a freelancer and has three published books. Showing portraits of Abakwetha from the Eastern Cape alongside local landscapes.
5. Kay Price Lindsay - 37 Clovelly Road, Clovelly
Kay Price LindsaySelf-taught landscape artist working in a monochromatic palette of charcoal, raw umber oils and chalk pastels, capturing off-trail wilderness across Southern Africa.
6. Sue Jowell - 33 Montrose Avenue, Clovelly
Sue Jowell
Sue creates riveted-metal mirror frames and wall panels inspired by Tuareg furniture and masks; a joyful, often humorous celebration of flora, fauna and everyday South African life.

7. Jenny Gordon + Carol Hofmeyr - 5 Luttrell Crescent, Fish Hoek
Jenny GordonJenny is a photographer and visual artist with over four decades exploring social landscapes and environmental portraiture across South African communities.
Carol HofmeyrFounder of the Keiskamma Art Project, Carol works in ceramics, painting, embroidery and mixed media exploring fragility, restoration and hope.
8. Sue Kaplan - 19 Nerina Ave, Fish Hoek
Sue Kaplan
Sue is an intuitive, visceral painter with an MA in Fine Art and Curating, and an emphasis on art therapy and art education, spanning Johannesburg and Cape Town.
9. Cathy Stanley + Elizabeth Vels - 48 Second Crescent, Fish Hoek
Cathy Stanley art
A breast cancer survivor, Cathy creates vivid paper paintings that explore the fragile connections between the human body and the natural environment.
Elizabeth VelsA career spanning nearly six decades, Elizabeth is one of South Africa's early papermakers and artists' book makers. She has also worked across paint, stitching, weaving, ceramics and etching.
10. Laura Cooke - 72 Nerina Crescent, Fish Hoek
Laura Cooke — Mountain form, ochre skyCape Town-based landscape painter working in acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and linocut, with a background in photojournalism. Her layered, intuitive style captures the feeling of South African wilderness rather than a literal record of it.
11. Chris Bladen - 6 First Avenue, Fish Hoek
Chris Bladen
Bronze sculptor known for finely detailed fish and birds, drawing on years of fly fishing and birdwatching to capture movement and character.
12. Gerda Smit - 5 Tenth Avenue, Fish Hoek
Gerda SmitWorking as O.Griet, Gerda combines painting and ceramics with a playful, naïve visual language — visual diary work, experimental drawing and hand-built ceramic characters.
13. Mashilo Magongoa - 13 Kenwood Street, Fish Hoek
Mashilo Magongoa sculpture
Mashilo is a sculptor working in mixed media and trained at the Michaelis School of Fine Art. He combines formal artistic training with craftsmanship to produce distinctive, handcrafted works, drawing on the visual culture of township life in his native Limpopo.

Lauren ShantallLauren Shantall — Lauren Shantall works full-time in communications and paints whenever she can. She has been exhibiting since 2022 and her work explores an ongoing fascination with plants and flowers.
Jasper WolfemanJasper Wolfeman — Jasper Wolfeman is an oil and acrylic painter and floral designer, exploring queer softness, strength and intimacy through gentle mark-making.
Anthea CzechAnthea Czech — Anthea Czech is a painter exploring landscape, portraiture and abstraction, drawing on a background in computer science and psychology.
Heidi BennHeidi Benn — Heidi Benn is a mixed-media artist working with paper, natural yarn, hand stitching and ink, exploring touch and the histories carried through hands.

Fish Hoek StudiosA shared artists' studio established in 2025, Fish Hoek Studios is home to 11 individual artist studios with a woodworking workshop below. For Open Studios, the communal space hosts a group exhibition with work from each resident artist.

Yda WaltA textile printmaker trained in London, Yda is known for hand-printed African-proverb tea towels and homeware, as well as vibrant textile art panels and linocuts.

Mel MillerMel is a mosaic artist trained in Italy, creating modern designs from glass, marble, semi-precious stones and found objects since 2003.

Susan DidcottSusan is a designer and costume maker across theatre, film and fashion who is reshaping her brand toward sustainability and craftsmanship.
20. Sheree Harrison - 27 Arthur Wright Rd, Fish Hoek
Sheree Harrison — protea paintingA Fine Arts graduate from Rhodes University and co-owner of Truly Fantastic canvas manufacturing, Sheree paints landscapes and florals inspired by the beauty of nature.
