Angela Buckland | Clovelly – Cape Town | Photographer
Angela “Angie” Buckland is a photographer based in Clovelly, Cape Town. She relocated from Durban to Cape Town two years ago, bringing with her an extensive career spanning photography, education and publishing.
Angie lectured in photography at the Durban University of Technology for six years. Before moving into academia, she worked as a freelance photographer for 25 years, specialising in architectural photography, editorial assignments and projects within the NGO sector.
Alongside her commissioned work, Angie has developed a substantial personal photographic practice. Her work has been exhibited both locally and internationally and often reflects a sustained interest in people, place, architecture and the social environments that shape our lives.
She has published three books: Zip Zip My Brain Harts, Light on the Hill: The Building of the New Constitutional Court and Quiet Place.
For Open Studios Fish Hoek & Clovelly, Angie will present a selection of portraits of Abakwetha photographed in the Eastern Cape, alongside landscapes from the local area.
